Description

Smith Ravine - TR 297 is open to hikers, horseback riders,
and mountain bikes.

The trail climbs steadily 700 feet upward toward
the southwest for the first 1.5 miles, where it
turns west. The Smith Ravine spring at the 1.7
mile point may have water. The trail ends at
Forest Road 52A (Spruce Mountain Road) at
an elevation of 7000 feet.
<br/><br/>
Ninety percent of the trail is in Ponderosa pine
forest. It offers good views to the north and
east of the Lynx Creek drainage area, and
Spruce Mountain Lookout to the south.

Directions

From downtown Prescott, travel east on <br />Gurley Street which becomes Highway 69 <br />toward Prescott Valley 4.1 miles to Walker <br />Road (County Road 57). Turn south on Walker Road for 5.7 miles to <br />the Smith Ravine Trailhead parking area on <br />the west side. <br />The trailhead <br /> parking area <br /> is unimproved, <br /> with room for <br /> six vehicles. <br /><br />
